Print, Publishing & Editorial Design

Printed materials reach a massive number of people and also have the added advantage of a tangible product, which can be retained.

Whether designing for advertising, editorial, or product, consideration and understanding is given to balancing the

client’s objectives, sustaining the continuum of the brand and executing readability.

The following examples give a small overview of some recent print pieces I have designed.

South : Adventures In The Underground Journey To The Stars : 3rd Album release

YAM Recordings website

YAM Recordings website

YAM Recordings website

Overview:
The 2006 release of South’s third album 'Adventures in the Underground Journey to the Stars' required a new logo to re-brand the artists. New York record label 'Young American Recordings' commissioned development of brand identity, which was also used by Cooking Vinyl, in the UK and Pony Canyon Records, in Japan.

Solution:
Worked in conjunction band members of South, recording label executives at YAM and UK management. The band commissioned illustrator Jonny Sabbagh create characters and background images and myself to layout the sleeve artwork. They wanted to retain an organic aesthetic, which subtly communicated the band’s grass roots production values used in the music of the album.

The album was released internationally in 2006 and is still available though various retail outlets and the iTunes store.
